AMC Statement On Introduction Of House Tax Reform Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The American Made Coalition issued the following statement regarding today's introduction of tax reform legislation in the House of Representatives:

"While we are still reviewing the details, today's introduction of tax reform legislation brings Congress one step closer to achieving the first major overhaul of the tax code in a generation,” said Ken Spain, a spokesman for the American Made Coalition. “We are encouraged that House leaders remain committed to significantly lowering the corporate rate and we support their stated goal of ending the penalty on American businesses competing abroad by transitioning to a territorial tax system. As the legislation advances, Congress should consider base-erosion provisions that do not impose onerous new taxes on American companies trying to compete around the world. We will be carefully examining the details of the bill and its impact to make sure the legislation helps American workers and businesses compete, rather than incentivize U.S. firms to relocate overseas or be acquired by foreign-headquartered companies.”
